Recently, I began dabbling with water color painting -- taking group lessons and painting at home. I have always had a creative flair, but I found that the artistic stimulation of the paint and brush, the elements of design, and the interaction with other artists has given a surprising boost to my writing as well. The more beauty I see, the more I am challenged to articulate it with words. Also, the painstaking process of mixing the colors, of letting the light and dark spaces define each other, and of creating a composition that is simple yet tells a story has brought new life to the very similar processes in writing. Even more broadly, I've found that all of the images around me, from the corners of my house to the faces of my friends and family, move and inspire to me to live out the image of God that is stamped on me. Here are a few of the pictures of my life.
